THE SITUATION
There is currently a severe genocide situation taking place in the Nuba Region of Sudan following the recent civil war, where hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and are living in the Nuba Mountains as well as refugee camps along the border in South Sudan.
The resources in this area are extremely limited, and people are starving to death each day.

A group of people passionate about feeding and saving these people from earthly and eternal hunger have begun to take action.

We recently sent a team of three Americans and one Nuban, to Sudan to begin an ongoing gospel centered relief effort over the next several years.
These men transported 1000 lbs of food into the mountains providing a small amount of relief where tens of thousands of displaced people are dying of starvation.

In addition to this initial effort, we have partnered with several NGO's serving the Sudanese people who were able to purchase another 10,000 lbs of food that will be delivered over the next several months.

THE PLAN
As we enter into the second phase of this project, wherein our goal is to continue to raise international awareness of the dire genocide going on in the Border Region of Sudan as well as continue to raise funds that will go towards purchasing and delivering more food, we would like to share the history of the situation as well as the work the Lord has allowed us to complete in the first phase of this project.

In terms of fundraising, we are continuing to boldly seeking the Lord’s provision.
We know that living in the United States, we have much more than we need, and can easily give of our excess, and ask that you might consider giving more than what is easy, but what is sacrificial.
Along with several individuals and Non-Government Organizations, HopeChurch of San Mateo is rallying the fundraising efforts.

In addition to the initial $26,000 that was raised by September 2012, we hope and pray that the Lord might have you partner with the Sudanese people over the next several months, and eventually years, to financially support sustainable care and share the good news with a people who’s earthly lives will be eternally changed by this message and provision of Hope.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
  • PRAY  To most people, ourselves included, this task is daunting, and seemingly impossible. But we faithfully serve an all powerful God, with whom all things are possible. We ask that you partner with us in praying for these people and this effort.
  • GO We are praying and seeking the Lord about the next team that will be sent. Consider whether this might be something the Lord has for you. The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few.
  • GIVE We are continuing to accept financial gifts which will be given 100% towards Sudan efforts.
  • TELL We know that a large part of this mission is making as many people aware of the tragedy in Nuba as possible. In turn, we are hoping that it would be almost impossible for anyone to be unaware of this situation. Ideally, more NGO's, governments and people will see these needs and eagerly respond and take action.
